Tip for designers amd illustators: when the client don't like it or want to go in another direction but you love what you did: use it in your portolio or show it on your blog because no job is lost and everything you create will give you something in return even if that is just experience. 

And who knows if that becomes the piece that will call your next client.

Am drawing Everyday on April

As part of a gig on Instagram am making a drawing every day. There's a theme list. And today's was Hair Style. 

Here in the Dominican Republic we do a hair style that more than a hair style is a thing you do to your hair that makes it flat and shinny, you keep it while you're at home and when sleeping and the next day or at night when you go out your hair is ready to party.

Every women does it even me at least twice a year but every women does it and a lot of them on daily basis. The name of the style is Tubiand they say is miracules and sure is. So Inspired on a Hindu Goddess that's  how Santa Tubi or Saint Tubi was born. And pray to her next time you do a tubi your hair calms down.

How to make a tubi separate your hair in half brush it around your hear and pin it. Repet until all your hair is pined making almost a halmet. Put a net on top and pray to the Santa Tubi she will be able to do the work.

Ps.Is it a dominican Thing or someone does this somewhere else?

But even if other people does it can't imagine they'll do it more than we do.

Friday is almost here, lay back for a moment put on a song that makes you happy, close your eyes for 5 minutes and forget about the rest. 

Giving you breaks to take care of your self makes your life better and also the rest of the day less stressful.  

No need to move from your desk (if you work in one like me) or stop what you doing for to long to do this.

I made a 10 ways to use your Pareo manual for a Dominican handmade Brand Beachwear by VIK. Came out pretty cute and practical on a 8.5" x 11" inches folded paper. Soon I'll post a picture of how it looks printed and how it folds.

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN

I can't even explain how I felt watching this movie, or what I would've done to Kevin, if I was in his mom's (Tilda Swinton) place. hehehe Am a good person but Wow Kevin you really made me think about murder for a second. If you've seen this movie, I bet you felt the same way.

But really, this is such a good movie, I had to make a fan Poster for it. That actually came out pretty cool, I think this would make a really good book cover.

The Lumineers

I've heard a couple of songs of them but actually had no Idea Who they where until last night when I made a quest on finding out who this new(to me) band was. The song I was hearing on the radio was  Ho Hey that actually reminds me to the song Home from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. One of my all time favorite. I'll share that song too and the end of the post. But after searching, I realized there was another song of them I love; Stubborn Love.

So here are the songs I've enjoyed the most of them. 

And yes I still listen to the radio(good Stations), specially on my way to work and back. Nothing is more exiting than listen to a song many times and having to find out who they are and what other songs they have. And most of the times you hear a song you had a long time without hearing or just wouldn't think of hearing or don't have on your endless itunes library but makes you happy.

NOSTALGIA MEXICANA

I made this illustration for two of my favorite people, Karen & Joan. Hope they enjoy it at there home as much as I did making it. I'll take a picture of the print in their home and post it later.

Ps: Just finished watching Les Misérables what an amazing movie. Heart breaking & completely beautiful. Couldn't stop thinking about my dad while watching it, Victor Hugo's master piece was one of my dad's old time favorite. And I most say Anne Hathaway made me cry over and over again.
